ACL Injury: Not Recommended

Friday Dave had surgery on his knee. He injured it twice in the last few months playing soccer, and after a lot of not-playing-soccer and hobbling around he had it looked at and went in for surgery. Dr. Cooley of TOSH was right: torn ACL and torn miniscus.

Dr. Cooley was able to use a tendon from Dave's hamstring as a new ACL and stitch the miniscus. He says Dave will completely recover, but for now he is hooked up to an ice-pack machine and can't put any weight on the leg.

Theoretically Dave would love to be able to sit and watch as much sports TV as he would like, but even he is admitting it is getting old. Thank goodness college football started this weekend though.

What is it with this family? Another family member has to use Dr. Cooley. Eric and Melinda were discussing Dave's surgery last night but I didn't know you had blogged about it. How long does Dave have to stay home to recuperate? I hope things go well. It's a good thing the soccer season is sending.
